This painting is 25 x 25cm acrylic painting on thick, 300gsm grey toned mixed media paper. With the frame, it is approximately 37 x 37 cm. The frame is ready to hang, with a sawtooth hanger on the back. Please see the images provided to see the frame and close up photos of the painting.

Using a limited colour palette, I focused on colour harmony and loosely painted basic shapes of the distant trees. Keeping it simple yet calming work of art suitable for any room.

This painting was inspired by the colours of Australian landscape, particularly the outback. When working on this painting, I decided to work with a different colour palette. However, I still painted this with loose brushstrokes and markings which I always enjoyed doing.

There is slight texture on the painting as you can see on the close up images above. A variety of tools were used to create different textures. In some parts of the painting, the colour of the paper is deliberately shown to add depth and dimensions to the scene.

“Turquoise Sky” is a 28 x 36cm acrylic painting on archival, thick, 300gsm blue toned mixed media paper. It is not framed.

Iridescent painting medium was used to highlight some parts of the sea. It is only noticeable in certain light. Please see the close up images provided.

Various tools were used to create different textures in this painting. It was painted in loose, abstract impressionistic style.

I was inspired by the turquoise colour of the sea which is exaggerated and extended to the sky, creating a modern looking sea painting.

The sky reminds me a lot of Monet’s “Impressions, Sunrise”, although it was completely unintentional. It is a simple nature sketch with loose brush marks and soft edges creating an ethereal atmosphere. This artwork is perfect for those who love impressionist art.

I was inspired by dramatic sky over an open field which is one of my favourite things to paint/draw. I wanted to keep this piece as a monochromatic sketch, focusing on shapes and values.

Although I might have drawn inspiration from the sky as viewed from my window as I painted this in my home studio.

Using mostly a wedge tool to add and subtract paint layers, smearing and blending paints much like abstract artists do, I put my focus on composition, colour harmony and textures to tell the story.

This painting was an intuitive art practice, much like a warm up ritual in my studio. Each of these paintings are special and hard to imitate. Various textures simply just happened, with the help of tools and cold wax medium.

The underpainting was painted using thin washes of acrylics which then mostly covered by layers of pastels.

This artwork was inspired by nature and landscape photos taken with polaroids, with flat contrast and soft hues. I wanted to create a simple, calming countryside landscape painting using a limited palette.
